Dr. Timothy Ross is a Scientist with the Bloorview Research Institute and an Assistant Professor (status) with the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto. He is also a Registered Professional Planner. Tim’s research is focused on understanding the experiences and critical perspectives of families living with childhood disability, and using their input to advance the accessibility and inclusion they experience within their communities. His recent work has explored the school travel experiences of disabled children and their families, and the designs and experiences of inclusive playgrounds across Canada. Questions about experiences of disability, the normalcy of ableism, and how they relate to the planning and design of our built environments, services, and systems are central to Tim’s research.
